Karkatasringi, whose botanical name is Pistacia integerrima and belongs to the Anacardiaceae family, a well-known medicinal plant. This plant native India distributed along Northwest Himalayan region at about 500–2500 m above sea level. Various parts of including roots, bark galls, leaves contain number secondary metabolites. Galls are most commonly used in unconventional medicines. There various Ayurvedic formulations which include Chyavanaprasha, Shringyadi cuma, Dasamularista these treatment diseases ajeema (indigestion), jwara (fever), yakrit roga (liver disorders) also swasa (asthma), yakshma (tuberculosis), hridyaroga (heart diseases). Furthermore, galls metabolites such as flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids. The this contains flavonoids terpenoids. roots terpenoids tannins. presence tannins major constituents responsible for astringent action. species P. family known its many uses globally thus represents whole high therapeutic value. It some common conditions vomiting, fever, asthma, diarrhea, cough modern medicine.
